Thinking: Another part of my site almost done.

In just a few words, I’m a 25-year-old mexican girl whose dream is to become an astrochemist. I love photography, literature, philosophy, chemistry and space. The phrase that describes me the best is “I’m a fountain of blood in the shape of a girl” belonging to Björk’s song “Bachelorette” and my total description is made on “Isobel” also by Björk.

On the other hand, I’m the only daughter of a 25-year-old marriage of a resercher and housewife. They met at the Psychology faculty while my father was my mother’s teacher. She chose to be at home to raise me. I was going to have two brothers but they never had the chance to see the light, both are my guardian angels.

I’ve almost lived my entire life in Mexico city although, I lived a year in Baltimore (MD, US) when I was 15 years old and two months in Marseilles (France) when I was 16. Both times because of my father’s research (basically learning and memory). Even though he’s a scientist from a third-world-country, he’s quite respected in his field and that has given my mother and I to travel and visit places across Mexico and Europe.

In academic issues, I studied (pure) Chemistry for my bachelor’s degree at the Chemistry faculty of the UNAM (the most important and largest university on Mexico and Latinamerica), located in Mexico city. Currently, I’m at the first semester of a master’s degree in Chemistry but as it happend during my bachelor’s, I’ve sucessfully combined astronomy with chemistry. In fact, recently, I went to Italy because I got accepted into the Vatican Observatory Summer School 2007 (VOSS) and it took place on a little town called Castel Gandolfo. I expend a great time over not only in the professional aspect but also in the personal. For the latest event, I was able to travel through Europe (backpacking) by my own achievements and lived one of the most amazing and enriched experiences of my life.

Speaking of enriching experiences and since life isn’t all about work, I feel the need to talk about what makes me the happiest girl/woman **still trying to find my path in that sense** in the entire Universe, my boyfriend Tijl (aka the Quicky). Despite all the odds and the ~ 10 000 km of separation, we’re together and love each other very much. I really don’t know what’s going to happen however, for now all I want is to be with him and for me to accomplish that, I need to firstly accomplish one of my dreams, find a Ph.D. position in Europe since my studies are the only mean that I have to find my own path towards self-fullness and happines **whatever that actually would be and mean**.
